What's in you're head?

Everyone has some of the oddest things rummaging around in their head, for me it's lame poetry, well at least I think it's lame but it can't always be, right? I realize that since I have started this blog (around the time I also started tatting) I have mentioned it in every post so how about something new? Getting to see this umm... we'll call it interesting for lack of better word... poetry I have created, this is one I have written recently for my fiance after getting the title of it in a dream.

I'm Drowning in You

I'm drowning in you
Some would say this to be bad
My life flashes before my eyes
But not the life I have had
Rather, it's the life I will have
No, it's not my life that I see,
It's the life we will have
Just you and me

I'm drowning in you
It's your sight, your scent, your taste
I want it to envelope me
I want to die in this way
For that death would be so perfect
Your lips to give me my last breath
The night surrounding us
Just you and me

So yeah, that's my bit for today on the artsy stuff, now onto the life stuff

International Anti-Homophobia Day

This day is on May 17 and is a step towards a more equal future, it is not uncomon for many homosexual and bisexual people to feel at least a little pressure from the outside world to down right scared of what they feel, and this needs to stop, even if you are only stopping it where you are. It will spread and this bigotry needs to stop! (I myself am yelled at by a so called friend on a daily basis for being bisexual). Make the world a better place one step at a time folks!

Love Amy.

Back after two busy busy weeks

Sorry about my two week hiatus folks, I was quite busy with my birthday and such, that's right, on March 17 I officially turned 23! yay! and as a bonus I got to spend two whole days with my fiance (who's birthday ironically enough was yesterday, heh heh, that's him in the picture with me). To celebrate my birthday I couldn't think of anything better than birthday tatting! So I buckled up my big girl pants and decided to not only create a design for choker and bracelets but also tackle a mask designed by Totusmel! The resaults? I love them all! (though admiditly I only adapted the choker and bracelets from a pattern for a heart doily, like I said though, I hate doilies!). Two girls from work even insisted on purchasing the choker and bracelet from me, who knew that something I made would be desierable! I've already gone through about 600 yards of string through my tatting and still don't know much about it! Soon enough I'm going to have to buy a sheep, keep it in my closet, and keep sheering it to make my own. Might be a bit smelly though.

I also made a resolution to become more fit, I've decided to share it with you so that I don't fall off the wagon and wuss out, so you're going to have to put up with it. I'm also considering publishing in my blog more than once a week now as weel.

That's it for today, tiered from my last work out, wewh, P90X is hard but wow is it fun!

Love Ames

PS sorry about the formatting, still need to learn how to use this heh heh

Medieval Braids

I've been so obsessed with my tatting this past week that I haven't been doing much else (I've made about 5 more chokers and some keychains and even a dragon!) but I did have some time to look up how to make some gorgeous medieval braids and cords here for a 7 stranded cord and here for a flat or square braid. I haven't tried the braids yet but have tried the cords and liked the resault, I just ran out of patience half way through though but when I am bored can see my self making lots.
Until next week!

Tatting for the First Time

Two days ago I was sitting away reading up different articles about crafts on the web and came to a site with tags you could check out on the side, one tag was called "Tatting". Alright, I thought to my little ol' self, this HAS to be about tattoos and I am in love with some tats. Well it wasn't, it was actualy a craft from the Victorian era called Tatting, the art of making lace by hand basicaly. There was a link to the blog of Totus Mel (blog here ) and I fell in love imidiately with a pair of "bare foot sandles" she had made, and instantly started looking it up, I looked all over Etsy, And Wiki more accurately and decided I had to try this for myself. I was lucky enough that I was able to find a turtorial by her on how to make a little flower. I didn't have the propper equiptment but I did have a tapestry needle, and some embroidery floss from a cross stithcing I am working on so I thought, what the hell, why not try with that. 6 hours later I found myself looking through the stores for a tatting needle and some crochet thread and making flower upon flower. My over-ambitions mind decided that I need to make a choker from it right away with these little flowers, and soon I had the entire thing made out, but it still looked like it was missing something so I quickly made up little do-dads from tatting and stuck 'em on. The resault? I think I'ma need to make me more of these!

An Introduction

Well, that's it, I've finaly broken down and just like the rest of the world started a blog. What will it it be about? Everything, on this I will be posting links to tutorials on crafts and possibly posting some tutorials of my own, I will post my thoughts on differant aspects of life, movies, food, etc. If I find something that truley inspires me, it too will find it's way to these pages of um... stuff.

Now a bit about me because why would you read a blog about someone you know nothing about? Or worse, why would you read a blog about someone you don't even like?

My name is Amy Patterson, though I also often go by the name of Elizabita so either of them will solicit a response. I'm 23 years old in three weeks minus a day. I come from Toronto, Ontario and think it's the greatest city in the world. Three years ago I attended school for Graphic Design but decided it was not for me a year and a half later. I am in love with piercings (I currently have 10, but would like many, many more) and tattoos (I only have one of those at the moment). I am a bit of an oddball who is addicted to anything crafty and unique. I am what most people would identify as "goth" but you know what? I don't mind one little bit. My favorite medium to make crafts from is paper though I am currently addicted to what is called "tatting".

I also am blessed with the worlds most amazing man as a fiancé, whom you will hear me to refer to from time to time (he's also increadably increadably cute!). I have a German mother and a Canadian father living in rural southern Ontario (I myself was born in Germany, moved here when I was a baby. No, I don't speak German). as well as a recently married, currently expecting sister. My idol is Ernesto Guavera (Yes, Che).

I've put up with a lot of shit in my life, you may also notice me become bitter from time to time, you'll have to forgive me when I do.

And now, without further ado, BLOG!
